Obituary for Alexander William Craven

Alexander William Craven of Newton, MA passed away peacefully at his home on May 3, 2017 after a courageous long-term battle with brain tumors. He graduated from Newton North High School and attended the University of Massachusetts. He was a life-long athlete who was involved with lacrosse, crew rowing, and swimming. Alex always had a quick wit, ready laugh, and debonair demeanor. He enjoyed finish carpentry, gardening, and long walks with his canine companions Robear and Dillon. Alex loved technology, sports cars, and his daily swim at the YMCA. Throughout his life, Alex was quietly helping others in need. Alex is survived by his mother Elinor Craven, siblings Carol, Pamela, and Sean, sister-in-law Debbie Craven, and his best friend Ron Golini.
A memorial mass will be held in Alex’s memory on Saturday June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, 1529 Washington St., W. Newton, MA. The family invites you to join them to celebrate Alex’s life.
